Reassembling goes on: March 2014

Bristol 403 restoration

1st March 2014, the 403 gets its first coat of filler to check gaps, lines etc. Looks like a HUGE Marshmallow...

A glorious day today, warm, bright sunshine: the right day to take the 409 out of her heated garage and drive her to Bedosti's to meet her older sister, the 403. The excuse was fitting in a new 'vintage' Failla battery, but I couldn't wait the moment that I could put them together....

The roof once cleaned shows it aluminum skin and steel tubing frame: Superleggera!

The spare wheel stowage, under the trunk, is quite misshapen. It will need some work to put it straight

The engine block has been painted with the original paint kindly provided by fellow BOC member Paul Glouchkow. It really looks good...Thanks Paul!

Some engine parts and ancillaires look the worse for wear, but most will be replaced with NOS or newly built parts

Federico looks pleased near to the 403 freshly painted with a coat of dark grey primer. Small wonder he likes this car, in his days he was a BMW works driver and the 'face' of the 403 reminds him of the 1940 Mille Miglia-winning BMW 328 Touring Berlinetta

Having complete the refurbishment of the internal panels, the bare interior of the 403 has now been painted black
