Tuning the Carter 3131S of my 409 (March 2014)

The carburetion of the Poly 318 was clearly too rich and if this was not too bad when driving up to 1000 meters (3000 ft) it was a real nuisance when over 2000 meters, like on the Julierpass to St Moritz, as it led to an even richer mixture and lots of flooding problems. The jets were therefore reset by Marco Gordini removing the .104" fitted until today and fitting .095" jets. A 10% reduction in the orifice area means that the car runs less rich. We will see how this modification works starting the V8 when cold
