October 2011. The only small problem developed by my 409 during the Goodwood trip was a disturbing squeal of the front brakes; skimming the front discs and replacing the brake pads restored silence. In December we fitted a reconditioned brake servo supplied by Martin Barnes (ACCS), as the old one had a slightly rough operation. Now the 'feel' of the brake system is superb, even more so after a shrewd modification effected by Marco Gordini in June 2013 eliminated the brake squeal with a quartet of custom-shaped copper spacers
