Bristol 409 Instruments lights


I have always wondered why the smaller instruments of the 409 are so poorly illuminated at night. This is the answer: two gauges (in this case voltmeter and oil pressure) share the light of a single small lamp placed between them. The wood of the rear of the dashboard facia has a deep 'groove' to allow this feeble light to pass through the small plastic side windows of the gauges illuminating one part of them
