UNIQUES 2012
'Uniques-Special Ones' is a very exclusive classic cars Concours d'Elegance held in Florence since 2010. It is the brainchild of MAC Group, headed by Sandro Binelli, and the great luxury fashion designer Stefano Ricci is, quite aptly, its main sponsor. A very refined Concours, with great cars and avid collectors; Marco Makaus is Uniques' cultured speaker and everything there is very charming. Anna and I couldn't miss it in 2012 and we arrived there, of course, with our 409
Anna and Dorotea Makaus enjoy the wonderful Giardino della Gherardesca. The Four Seasons is really the best hotel to stay when in Florence, and they can make you a stunning Martini....
A very special treat, and in fact my favourite machine of the Concours, was this fascinating Alfa Romeo 8C-2300 Monza in its original Swedish racing colours. A veritable masterpiece!
We had some very good luck with the weather despite horrifying forecasts; the event went on very well in the magnificent scenario of the Four Seasons Firenze, the Giardino della Gherardesca and Conventino. It began to rain cats and dogs at the end of the Concorso, Sunday afternoon around 7 p.m. and as you can see below, Monday morning the cars were very damp, but the 409 started without a fuss
