Zanarini is the old classic bar of Bologna. Recently refurbished with a huge expense, and splendidly managed by Michele Doria, it is extremely stylish and its position, in Piazza Galvani, is the best in Bologna, though the pleasure of enjoying the first warmth of spring is somewhat spoiled by the ugly pigeons (protected by the Greens and loathed by the rest of the world), trying to steal any leftovers off the tables. The selection of gins is quite good, the Martini is dry enough though not exactly below 0°C, and it's a very enjoyable place to stay when the Summer begins |
