Cortina d’Ampezzo is the best and probably the more
stylish mountain resort in Italy;
pity that very few of its expensive five-star establishments offer a
Martini worthy of its name. The most famous doesn’t even have a Martini
glass to pour it in! Much better, for the Martini connoisseur, to reach
the shelter of the bar at Hotel Aquila, strategically placed at the
Northern end of the pedestrian-only part of Corso Italia. A well-kept
secret amongst Cortina habitués, ***’s Martini is extremely dry, cold
and of ample proportions.
