THE TEMPLES OF THE COCKTAIL MARTINI

Die-hard Martinistas in Bologna were cruelly hit by the unexpected closure of the excellent 'Inde Palais', whose new management seems completely out of tune with Martinis and much more inclined to make a quick buck with bubbly French wines. The rescue comes just across the 'Musei' gallery where the Nu Lounge bartenders have always mixed excellent Martinis and even more complicated cocktails for a fashionable audience, if slightly younger than me and my fellows. The idea of a 'vial' (the round thing in the ice on the left of the pic above) where one can find the right refill for his stem glass after he has downed the first part was nice...too bad the last times we went there they had only cheap non-Martini glasses, thus it was eliminated from our favorites' list
