Die-hard Martinistas in Bologna were cruelly hit, at the beginning of July, by the unexpected closure of the excellent 'Inde Palais'. Its new stuffy management seems completely out of tune with Martinis and much more inclined to make a quick buck with bubbly French wines. Anyone who serves his gin portion in this type of glass is simply not cultured enough to pretend to mix a Martini, and I urge connoiseeurs of the most sacred of all cocktails to avoid this place at all costs....Nu Lounge, on the other side of the same arcade, serves a better mix with elegance, a smile and, what's more important, proper stem 'conical' glasses. Enough said.
