For a few days in May, the superb Grand Hotel Villa d'Este, on the shores of Lake Como, allows some lucky fellows the pleasure to enjoy extraordinary cars and a splendid Martini in the same exquisite surroundings, savouring the privilege of living the most elegant of all the Concorso d'Eleganza for classic cars, magnificently sponsored by BMW. When you check in, the first time to do is ask the staff to put a bottle of Tanqueray in the freezer; this way you will be able to enjoy an exquisite Martini in a splendid place where the service is wonderful, the Concours has no peers and the scenery is awesome....

2017-2019 The Martini cocktail, in a sophisticated place like Villa d'Este and especially during the Concorso, is nothing short of an institution. The new bartender, Francesco, has all the right connections and knows many excellent specialists too, like Federico at 'Il Pellicano'. At my request he put a bottle of Tanqueray 'Ten' in the freezer in the morning; he was already using the right glass and great care in mixing, so the final result is excellent |
