Not many visitors of the Portofino coast know that they can ejoy a 5-stars hotel that's very near Portofino but much more elegant than many of the offers there, with real antiques everywhere and superb staff. We had the pleasure to stay there on the occasion of the opening of the new Porto Turistico, dedicated to non less than Carlo Riva, before a sobering round of golf at the challenging 'Golf Rapallo' |

To prepare ourselves for the golf, nothing better than a good diunner (the restaurant of the Excelsior is very good indeed) but before that you can't miss the opportunity to taste a superb Martini in a splendid old-style location. The lovely lady bartender mixed my Martini, as requested, with the Botanist, one of my favourite gins, and her mix was extremely good. Lovely smile, too. Recommended! |
