I
photographed my collection of classic turntables in my home, using a Nikon
F with prism finder and a Micro-Nikkor 60 mm f 2.8 lens or a Nikon
F4 with a Medical 120 mm lens. I chose to use a simple illumination source
consisting of a single 300 watt spot reflected on the ceiling. The F was
supported by a Linhof tripod with a Gitzo head and I used Kodak Gold 100
ASA film for colour prints; the exposure was calculated with a Gossen
Lunasix 3 meter.
The prints were scanned (Canon and HP scanners), resized with Vedimago and, if necessary, balanced with Ulead Photo-Express and Photoshop. Many of the later pictures were taken with digital cameras, first an early Canon 350 digital camera, then with a Canon IXUS 300 in medium or high-resolution modes, then with an IXUS400 in high-resolution and macro mode; the latest pictures have been made with a Leica D-Lux 8MB digital camera. Only few pictures have been raided from eBay and other sites, when it was completely impossible to find a decent picture of a significant turntable in my archive. Ho
fotografato la mia collezione di giradischi classici a casa mia,
usando una Nikon F con mirino a
pentaprisma, obiettivo Micro-Nikkor 60 mm f 2.8 oppure una F4 con un
Medical 120 mm. Ho scelto una fonte di illuminazione molto semplice, uno
spot da 300 watt diretto verso il soffitto. La F era montata su un
cavalletto Linhof con testa orientabile Gitzo, ho usato pellicola Kodak
Gold 100 ASA per stampe a colori e l'esposizione è stata calcolata con un
esposimetro Gossen Lunasix 3.
Le stampe sono state successivamente tradotte in JPEG utilizzando uno scanner Canon, messe a misura con Vedimago e, se necessario, ritoccate con Ulead Photo-Express. Alcune foto sono state effettuate in esterni con una vecchia fotocamera digitale Canon 350, quindi altre con una Canon IXUS 300 in media o alta risoluzione, ultiamente con una IXUS 400 ad alta risoluzione e in modo macro; tutte le ultime foto sono state fatte con una digitale 8MB Leica D-Lux. Solo un paio di queste sono state prese da eBay ed altri siti, quando è stato realmente impossibile trovare foto decenti di un giradischi significativo nei miei archivi.
