Underside the FSI looks clean, the suspension arm seems to be of the 'cast' (not pressed) type

A nice page, from a great German site devoted to the Audi A2, about the A2 1.6 FSI: http://www.audia2museum.de/37.html |

My 2002 FSI has the 'square' windscreen washer jets, not very efficient |

The rear number plate lights are a mess, and the windscreen wiper pins lack their rubber protection. Clearly a consequence of the carelessness of the previous owner of my FSI, who effectively more or less ran her into the ground. Cheap people don't deserve aluminum Audis, and the A2 don't deserve this type of owner |

The good chaps at A2OC UK suggested that a lumpy uneven idle in a FSI could be due to a faulty cam position sensor, so I bought a new one on Amazon.com and Marco Gordini fitted it in place of the old (white) scruffy one. The idle actually improved |

Below: does anyone know of a similarly-equipped A2...? |

The A2 could be fitted with a navigation system, a device that in 2000 was reserved usually to hi-end luxury cars. I'd love to find a FSI so equipped, just as eye candy of course |

Gianni Ferrari, the Boss of Carrozzeria 3T, found a new windscreen for the A2. They also polished the A2 to an excellent result |

Missing some rivets, I gather... |

The rubber grommet that protects the bearing of the two wiper pins was missing since I bought the FSI, making them 'dry' and exposed. Steve (A2Steve on the excellent A2OC Forum) has found one for me and Andrea Gordini fitted it |

Left, as you usually find the number plate lights to be when you buy the car: Broken plastic 'lens', rusty crews....Right, the new lens fitted |

You need to be really ham-fisted to break the plastic clip of the fuse box cover, however the previous owner of my FSI managed to do just that too, so I'd need a new one in beige... |

We could finally fit the 16" wheels with summer tires. The battery I had found on the FSI when I bought it was small (50 amp) and tired, Roberto fitted a new 64 amp battery |

The accuracy of the speedometer, not very good with the 15" wheels and winter tires, improved a bit with the 16" wheels: 130 kmh on the speedo are actually 127 kmh measured with the Garmin GPS |

The lighting up of this light in the instrument panel sends shivers down the spine of FSI owners.... |
