The LED conversion for the interior lights is very effective; cream leather looks good with cold LED lights

I couldn't resist fitting these to the door puddle lights...if Luc Donckerwolke (the designer of the A2 and many other stylish cars) thought that they are good enough for his 'Genesis', I can put them an my Allroad as well

A new number plate holder

at 153,170 kms we put new oil and a special additive. We'll see how it works

153888 kms: a complete Audi Service

9 February: a new GPS sat nav

The only glitch of the otherwise very complete interior of the Allroad was the lack of a sat nav, that everybody now is used to have on his car. Retrofitting the original Audi sat nav was out of question for cost and other consoderations, besidesthe screen fitted on my car was badly scratched. So I looked around and found that the same iGo Primo-based sat nav that I had fitted on my A2 was available in a custom version adapted for the B8 A4. I bought it through AliBaba from a Shenzhen dealer and Tecnosat in Bologna fitted it.

It is a great addition to my Allroad giving lots of additional information....

....and it's easy to fit a rear camera too; it's only a gimmick, maybe, but very nice indeed. The installation was facilitated by the fact that most hardware had already been fitted by Audi for its own systems, of course

154000 kms, oil: still apprently full

The software version of the sat nav

The rear view camera

We don't have to be snotty about installing an aftermarket Chinese sat nav: the original Audi item was made (by Panasonic) in China as well...!

Besides, the screen that I found in my Allroad was badly scratched so it was necessary to change it, as, apparently, nothing can restore its original lustre

24/02, 154888 kms, oil light on again
One litre of Castrol+Bardahl B2 oil treatment (300ml)

The dreaded yellow 'Oil' light came up once again at 156089 kms, that is 1200 kms after the last kg of Castrol was put in the engine. An improvement, but this time I had added a Bardahl additive that was supposed to slow down the oil consumption. This time we've put in the engine one kg of Castrol 5W-40 and we'll see what happens next

Summer is coming! A set of fresh Pirelli P7s in 17", choosing comfort over better looks (yes, the 18" wheels look better I know...)

Now, Audis are strong, but I'd never thought that a Q5 could derail one of Firenze's tramway cars...

3 September: one Xenon lamp dies

I am deeply grateful to my friend Francesco Pulega, the King of the car electric engineers, for having changed the lamp in the space of a morning...

...sadly, immediately after the short pleasant holiday in Interalpen, the COVID-19 disater struck and we were confined in our houses. Thank God we have nice ample houses, but it was so lugubrious....In June things improved to the point that our dictators in Rome graciously allowed us to travel once again, and the first trip was obviously to Firenze. Here's a celebrating snapshot on the pass (726 m.) along the A1 Panormaica highway with the Allroad
